Millennials in Aviation Day

Help GHI hit back against skills shortages and build a brighter future for ground handling by supporting our Millennials in Aviation Day on 27th November at this year’s 20th Annual Conference, Gothenburg.

What is Millennials in Aviation Day?

We’re inviting attending companies to bring their Millennial employees (anyone aged 30 or under) to immerse them in the learning and networking opportunities available at the GHI Annual.

A discounted day pass rate of €999 includes full access to GHI’s Pride of Ground Handling Awards, where we will be celebrating industry excellence including a Rising Star Award.
Millennials in Aviation Day also includes a special conference debate, which will invite a panel of under 30s working in ground handling to discuss their hopes, expectations and ambitions for working in the aviation industry.

Why launch Millennials in Aviation Day?

GHI research reveals more than 50% of European stations suffering a skills shortfall, with 63% citing that lack of employee expertise for deteriorated services to airlines. The picture is replicated across Asia, the Americas and African regions.

Despite outstanding development opportunities, Ground handling is either unknown or considered unappealing by many young people. And with Millennials set to make up 75% of the global workforce by 2025 – GHI has decided to act.

How can you take part?

If you are home to talented employees aged 30 or under or operate an apprenticeship or graduate recruitment programme – then we encourage you to:

  • Nominate your Millennial employee to sit on our ‘Talking about my generation: the age of millennials in aviation conference debate’. Email:  with details of your chosen employee and how you help develop future employees.

Thanks for your support in helping GHI promote the industry to the next generation.
